Dan Nordquist Appointed as Deputy Vice President for Research

Dan Nordquist has been appointed as deputy vice president for research (VPR) for operations. Nordquist previously served as associate vice president for the Office of Research Support and Operations (ORSO) unit. In his new role, Dan will work with all Office of Research (OR) units to improve operational support of the research community. He will also continue to oversee ORSO, the Office of Research Information Technology unit, and the Conflict of Interest Committee.

Operational support of the WSU research community is central to the OR mission and success of the Drive to 25. In particular, operational excellence is required in a wide range of OR activities, including sponsored project administration, grant submission, assurances, industrial engagement and commercialization, data management, and other areas critical to execution of the University’s research mission. Dan has built a strong and successful operational culture within ORSO. In his new role, Dan will apply this experience to other areas within OR and thereby improve our operational support of the WSU research enterprise.
