| Greetings! We are just a few weeks away from the start of the academic year. As we wrap up summer, I’d like to share with you some exciting new changes. We recently relaunched the research.wsu.edu website with a new look, navigation, and content designed with the researcher in mind. This new web experience will better serve the research community. With easier navigation, WSU researchers will be able to find resources for every step of the research lifecycle. From identifying funding opportunities to commercialization of research, our new website provides resources and tools to advance socially impactful and innovative research in a safe and ethical manner. Most of these resources can be found under the We Can Help tab. Other features to note include WSU’s Research Strengths, which highlights a broad spectrum of research areas that have a critical mass of faculty, sustained and sufficient extramural funding, and are making a positive impact on society and communities around the region and beyond. The Capabilities section features WSU’s core research facilities, and centers and institutes that bridge disciplines to answer difficult questions, zeroing in on specific topics to uncover new knowledge that empowers scientific, economic, and community solutions worldwide. Guidelines and Policies provides guidance on adhering to legal, financial, and ethical guidelines and policies associated with research, with links to more in-depth resources through the many teams within the Office of Research. In addition, we are excited to announce the release of our FY2023 Research Annual Report. The annual report highlights outstanding research conducted by our faculty systemwide. It celebrates the achievements and milestones of WSU’s researchers and highlights six emerging researchers to watch, whose work is already making an impact in the early stage of their careers. Finally, following a summer hiatus, Research Radar, the Office of Research’s biweekly newsletter, will return on Wednesday, August 21. In addition, we will launch the Funding Flash newsletter on August 28. The Funding Flash will provide up-to-date funding opportunities across all disciplines and tips for finding more funding.
