America’s AI Action Plan
In July 2025, the Trump administration released a framework for the advancement of AI in the United States. The plan focuses on accelerating innovation, building out AI infrastructure, and AI diplomacy and security.

National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource Task Force: Final Report
This report establishes a plan to implement a national artificial intelligence research resource in order to broaden access to resources essential to artificial intelligence research and development. The report discusses AI best practices as well as national priorities around AI R&D.
American Artificial Intelligence Initiative: Year One Annual Report
The American Artificial Intelligence Initiative emerged as a result of Executive Order 13859, on Maintaining American Leadership in Artificial Intelligence (2019), and represents the first drive toward a national AI strategy at the federal level. This report summarizes actions taken, recommended next steps, and efforts to generate principles for AI use within the federal government.

This 2021 report from the Stanford-based One-Hundred Year Study on Artificial Intelligence (AI100) presents the contemporary state of affairs with regard to artificial intelligence and its implementation throughout our society. As part of a long-term longitudinal study begun in 2014, the report pays particular attention to trajectories of change over time.

This 2019 report from the Computing Community Consortium and the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence lays out the contemporary status of AI in society, the challenges of advancing AI in the near and further terms, and recommends policies and practices to advance AI research by establishing a national AI infrastructure.
