The Office of Research hosts workshops related to research development and grant seeking. Programming varies from year to year, but usually at least one workshop will be held each semester.

Emerging Research Leaders: Funding Your Future
This workshop is a new Research Leadership Academy program designed for early-career, assistant-level faculty seeking to build successful research programs and compete for major funding opportunities such as NSF CAREER and NIH K awards. Through five interactive sessions held from October 2026 to January 2027, participants will learn how to develop competitive proposals, secure institutional support, avoid common grant-writing pitfalls, and create a long-term funding strategy.
The workshop is open to STEM and social science faculty across the WSU system, with participation limited to 15 faculty members. Applications, which require department chair approval, should be submitted on-line in the InfoReady platform by October 14, 2026.
