Inotiv Group Ordering and Fuel Surcharge Mitigation

Inotiv currently assesses a $35 fuel surcharge per invoice. To help mitigate this cost, IVS will utilize group ordering when feasible.

Research groups that submit animal orders early may have their orders combined onto a single invoice. When group orders occur, the fuel surcharge will be prorated based on the number of shipping crates per order, rather than assessed individually per lab.

Group ordering is not guaranteed, as it is dependent on multiple compatible orders being placed within the same ordering cycle. IVS may not have sufficient overlapping orders during a given week to share the additional surcharge.

To be eligible for group ordering:

  • Orders must be submitted by Tuesday
  • Orders will be placed with Inotiv on Thursday

Group ordering will not apply if there are:

  • Availability constraints
  • Timing restrictions
  • Strain-, age-, or sex specific limitations that require the order to be placed independently
  • Late or add-on orders

IVS will continue to utilize group ordering when possible to reduce costs while ensuring animal availability, timelines, and compliance requirements are maintained.

Holiday Schedule

Shipping and delivery dates may be inconsistent during weeks of national or university holidays. Expect blackout dates to the shipping schedule by the vendor and/or IVS. Please contact the facility manager for ship schedule.
