The Office of Research Advancement and Partnerships offers continuing education opportunities that help faculty navigate the research world and develop competitive grant proposals

The Office of Research Advancement and Partnerships’ (ORAP) mission is to help faculty create successful grant applications and research programs. The following opportunities take place every year, and give faculty the resources needed excel in their field of research.

Informational Sessions

These weekly, hour-long classes are designed to assist you with all areas of research development. Topics include budget planning, broader impact opportunities, supplementary documents, research compliance, and more.

Proposal Writing Workshops

ORAP offers an intensive, eight-week proposal writing program designed to teach faculty the grantsmanship skills required to write competitive grant proposals. Lecture topics include how to frame a grant proposal to ensure you have a fundable idea, presenting your competitive advantage, developing significance, demonstrating competence, and other topics that will ensure you put forth the most competitive proposal possible.

These courses are offered free to all faculty at all WSU campuses. Classes are offered each semester and enrollment is limited. Please contact us at as soon as possible to reserve your spot in the next course. At this time, the course is not open to postdoctoral fellows or graduate students.

The next Grant Proposal Writing Workshop will begin spring of 2018.
