WSU Research Proposal Development Training

Develop Strong Proposals

The Office of Research Advancement and Partnerships offers ongoing trainings and workshops on grant proposal writing for faculty

The Office of Research Advancement and Partnerships’ (ORAP) mission is to help faculty create successful grant applications and research programs. The following opportunities take place every year, and give faculty the resources needed to develop competitive grant proposals.

Informational Sessions

These weekly, hour-long classes are designed to assist you with all areas of proposal development and research program expansion. Topics include budget planning, finding broader impact opportunities, working on supplementary documents, and more.

Find the upcoming classes by visiting our calendar. Sign up early as class space is limited.

Grant Proposal Writing Workshops

ORAP offers an intensive, eight-week proposal writing program to teach faculty the grantsmanship skills required to write a competitive grant proposal. Lecture topics include how to frame a grant proposal to ensure you have a fundable idea, present your competitive advantage, develop significance, demonstrate competence, and other topics that will ensure you put forth the most competitive proposal possible.

We offer this FREE course to all faculty at all WSU campuses. Classes are offered each semester and enrollment is limited. Please contact us at as soon as possible to reserve your spot in the next course. At this time, the course is not open to postdoctoral fellows or graduate students.

Our spring class is currently full. The next Grant Proposal Writing Workshop will begin summer of 2017.
