Research Centers
The University's research centers constantly change to
reflect society's critical issues. The centers serve as a
resource to encourage interdisciplinary teaching,
research, and resource sharing. They also serve as places
for the University and private industry to
interact.
Several Centers report directly to the Office of
Research, and are listed below. Other Centers,
Laboratories and Institutes reporting to colleges,
schools and departments also advance the university
research mission.

·Center for Integrated Biotechnology
The Center for Integrated Biotechnology strives to
promote faculty collaborations and enhance industry
interactions by combing the resources of experts in the
fields of pharmacy, engineering and architecture,
veterinary medicine, sciences, liberal arts, and
agriculture and home economics.

·Nuclear Radiation Center
The Nuclear Radiation Center serves as an all-University
resource unit, supporting research and graduate education
related to nuclear engineering and physics,
radiochemistry, elemental analysis, and neutron
activation analysis.

·Social and Economic Sciences Research Center
The Social and Economic Sciences Research Center seeks to
strengthen research in the social, economic, and
behavioral sciences at Washington State University. This
mission is pursued through a variety of activities
including a computer-assisted telephone interview
facility, mail survey capabilities, personal interviewing
capabilities, assistance to faculty in the preparation
and submission of research proposals for extramural
funding, and efforts to stimulate and organize
interdisciplinary research. Consultation is also provided
to faculty, staff, students, and others on the
development and implementation of research
projects.

·Water Research Center
Although located at Washington State University, the Water Research Center is a cooperative venture by WSU and the University of Washington with input from other state research universities. The mission of the Center is to plan, promote, conduct, and administer research in water resources; to educate and train scientists and engineers through participation in research projects; and to disseminate the results of completed research to users through publications, conferences, seminars, short courses, and symposia. The Center operates in consultation with state, federal, and private water-interested organizations.
