SUMMARY:Leo K. Bustad Lecture
DESCRIPTION:Guest Speaker: Scott Maloney\nWednesday\, March 23\, 2016\n12:10 pm -1:00 pm\nBustad Room 145  \nThe Business of Biotech: the journey from bench discovery back to bench discovery with a stopover as a multi-billion dollar company. \n“For both veterinary and human medicine\, it is translational research that turns fundamental discoveries into practical impact. Translating science to the marketplace brings the latest to benefit both humans and animals.”\n—Bryan Slinker\, dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine \n\n\n\n*The Bustad Lecture is in honor of a prominent figure in veterinary medicine for decades\, who was dean of the WSU College of Veterinary Medicine in the 1970s. He was elected to the Institute of Medicine because of his success as a scientist\, particularly in translational research. He was a champion of entrepreneurship\, comparative biomedicine\, and what would now be known as One Health.\n\n\n\n\nFor more information\, please contact Anna Wheatley\, Assistant Director of Development at 509-335-5389 or awheatley@vetmed.wsu.edu
