It is important to know which entity to use on your proposal and to make sure all supporting documents are consistent with the applicant entity used.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To find out which entity to use,\u202fread the funder\u2019s request for proposals (RFP) and look at the funder\u2019s qualification rules. If the proper submitting entity remains unclear, please contact the WSU Office of Foundation Relations by email at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:wsuf.ofr@wsu.edu\">wsuf.ofr@wsu.edu<\/a> or visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/foundation.wsu.edu\/ways-to-give\/foundation-relations\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/foundation.wsu.edu\/ways-to-give\/foundation-relations\/\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In general, please use WSU as the applicant.&nbsp;<strong>If the funder requires a 501(c)(3) for submission, use the WSU Foundation, which is a nonprofit, public 501(c)(3) organization, as described in IRS sections 509(a)(1) and 170(b)(1)(A)(vi).<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the grant proposal names the WSU Foundation as the submitting organization, the PI must work with the WSU Office of Foundation Relations or\u2014for corporate foundations\u2014with the WSU Office of Corporate Engagement and the PI\u2019s grant administrator to submit the proposal through ORSO for WSU approval, with&nbsp;<strong>WSUF<\/strong>\u202f<strong>noted as the sponsor on the eREX form.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Staff from the Office of Foundation Relations and Corporate Engagement&nbsp; are\u202favailable\u202fto help\u202f<\/strong>on\u202fany\u202fproposal or gift request to privately-funded organizations.
