{"id":10671,"date":"2026-02-05T13:19:53","date_gmt":"2026-02-05T21:19:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.wsu.edu\/operations\/?page_id=10671"},"modified":"2026-08-13T08:27:49","modified_gmt":"2026-08-13T15:27:49","slug":"quick-reference","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/research.wsu.edu\/operations\/submit-a-proposal\/quick-reference\/","title":{"rendered":"Proposal Submission Quick Reference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Review Window and Deadlines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Proposals eREXs must be fully approved and submitted to ORSO no later than 9:00 a.m., five business days before the sponsor\u2019s deadline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Business days are Monday\u2013Friday, 8:00 a.m.\u20135:00 p.m., excluding university holidays or closures.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the sponsor deadline falls on a non-business day, proposals must be received by ORSO five business days before the last business day prior to the deadline (or as required by sponsor guidelines).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Areas\/campuses are encouraged to set internal deadlines of 3\u20135 business days earlier to support timely submissions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Waivers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A waiver is required if proposals are submitted with fewer than five business days before the sponsor\u2019s deadline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Acceptable waiver reasons include: official university closures, serious illness\/injury\/death of key personnel or family, or funding opportunities announced less than two weeks before the deadline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Waivers must include written justification and be endorsed through the full approval chain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Narrative Hold<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Eligible proposals may continue to use the Narrative Hold option for technical sections, with final versions of those documents uploaded and ORSO notified no later than <strong>9:00 a.m. on the business day before the sponsor\u2019s deadline<\/strong>.
