materials science related analytical tools both common as well as unique in the United States or worldwide. Single crystals are grown by the Czochralski technique as well as with the vertical and high-pressure Bridgman method. Currently gallium oxide and CdTe are grown and available for outside universities and commercial customers. Samples can be studied for atomic scale damage with depth resolved vacancy specific positron annihilation spectroscopy and on nanometer to micrometer scales with a 3D nano CT X-ray microscope with down to 50 nm resolution.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"field_1_54\"  class=\"gfield gsection field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"  data-js-reload=\"field_1_54\"><h2 class=\"gsection_title\">Complex Social Interaction Lab (CSI)<\/h2><div class='gsection_description' id='gfield_description_1_54'>The greater purpose of the Complex Social Interactions (CSI) Lab is to provide public safety agencies with technology that will help increase their supervisorial capacity, thus addressing one of the most pressing issues in 21st century policing and beyond. The CSI Lab will develop new software that has real-world applications to aid public safety agencies when seeking to improve their organization while evolving individual level decision-making. By surveying the measurement and tracing of data series within specific networks in audio, visual, and biometric recordings, our technology will help agencies not only validate reports, but identify other unreported altercations and incidents that may need reevaluation. CSI technology will help validate the success of interventions, including training, policies, and protocols.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"field_1_21\"  class=\"gfield gsection field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"  data-js-reload=\"field_1_21\"><h2 class=\"gsection_title\">Nuclear Science Center (NSC)<\/h2><div class='gsection_description' id='gfield_description_1_21'>The NSC provides a collaborative environment where WSU faculty, staff, students, and clients can succeed in their basic and applied nuclear science research goals. The NSC prepares WSU students for successful entry into the scientific workforce, provides the pathway to discovery in novel research, and makes impactful contributions to science and to the people who work and study here.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"field_1_24\"  class=\"gfield gsection field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"  data-js-reload=\"field_1_24\"><h2 class=\"gsection_title\">Peter Hooper GeoAnalytical Lab (GAL)<\/h2><div class='gsection_description' id='gfield_description_1_24'>The GAL provides chemical analysis of inorganic Earth and environmental materials at macroscopic (hand sample size) to microscopic (~1 micron) scales. We can provide abundance data for most elements in the Periodic Table, excluding gases and highly radioactive elements, depending on user requirements. Determinations of forty-three elements are provided as a standard package for macro-scale samples.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"field_1_26\"  class=\"gfield gsection field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"  data-js-reload=\"field_1_26\"><h2 class=\"gsection_title\">Laboratory of Biotechnology and Bioanalysis (LBB)<\/h2><div class='gsection_description' id='gfield_description_1_26'>LBB is a genomics core lab at Washington State University. Our lab specializes in DNA sequencing and molecular biology services for both WSU and off campus researchers.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"field_1_28\"  class=\"gfield gsection field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"  data-js-reload=\"field_1_28\"><h2 class=\"gsection_title\">Nuclear and Chemical Science Core Facility (NUCS)<\/h2><div class='gsection_description' id='gfield_description_1_28'>The NUCS Facility is home to a suite of instruments utilizing radiation scattering and absorption to probe solvation and material properties, such as actinide and trans-uranic complexes, not otherwise achievable with other instruments or at other facilities on the Pullman campus. WSU NUCS includes all non-reactor NSC instrumentation and represents exciting growth in nuclear research capabilities at WSU.  The NUCS Core Facility currently houses XAFS, SAXS\/WAXS, SCXRD, PXRD, NMR, gamma spectroscopy and DSL instrumentation with NSC staff scientists available to perform experiments, teach, train, and collaborate with WSU faculty and staff on research projects.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"field_1_30\"  class=\"gfield gsection field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"  data-js-reload=\"field_1_30\"><h2 class=\"gsection_title\">Radiogenic Isotope and Geochronology Laboratory (RIGL)<\/h2><div class='gsection_description' id='gfield_description_1_30'>As the name implies, the Radiogenic Isotope and Geochronology Laboratory (RIGL) specializes in radiogenic isotope and geochronologic analyses. In particular we specialize in the use of Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd, Lu-Hf, and U-Pb isotope systems for tracer applications and the U-Pb, Lu-Hf, and Sm-Nd systems for geochronology. Most of our work is on geological samples (e.g., rocks and minerals), but we also analyze biological materials and waters. Our laboratory is open to outside researchers to come to work in our lab and we also do some contract work on samples sent to us.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"field_1_32\"  class=\"gfield gsection field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"  data-js-reload=\"field_1_32\"><h2 class=\"gsection_title\">Stable Isotope Core Laboratory (SICL)<\/h2><div class='gsection_description' id='gfield_description_1_32'>The WSU Stable Isotope Core Laboratory provides stable isotope and analytical analyses to the Washington State University community as well as other academic, government, and private agencies around the world. The primary missions of the facility are to facilitate novel research for WSU researchers, and to provide hands-on training to students, postdoctoral associates, and research personnel.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"field_1_34\"  class=\"gfield gsection field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"  data-js-reload=\"field_1_34\"><h2 class=\"gsection_title\">Tissue Imaging, Metabolomics, and Proteomics Laboratory (TIMPL)<\/h2><div class='gsection_description' id='gfield_description_1_34'>We were established to provide high quality analytical support to research projects that will significantly benefit from applications of contemporary mass spectrometry techniques (GC-TOFMS, LC-MS\/MS and MALDI-MS analyses), to develop advanced methods and scientific applications \u2013 research rather than routine, and To provide training support for students, post-docs and other researchers.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"field_1_36\"  class=\"gfield gsection field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"  data-js-reload=\"field_1_36\"><h2 class=\"gsection_title\">Franceschi Microscopy and Imaging Center (FMIC)<\/h2><div class='gsection_description' id='gfield_description_1_36'>The Franceschi Microscopy and Imaging Center (FMIC) is a research and educational facility for the imaging and ultrastructural study of biological and non-biological materials. It is a centralized facility available to all WSU researchers and students. The FMIC provides electron microscopy and light microscopy equipment for observation and analysis of a diverse array of specimens.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"field_1_44\"  class=\"gfield gsection field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"  data-js-reload=\"field_1_44\"><h2 class=\"gsection_title\">Animal Production Core (APC)<\/h2><div class='gsection_description' id='gfield_description_1_44'>The APC offers a range of services for generating and preserving genetically modified animal models for investigators at WSU and beyond. Embryo microinjection and micromanipulation are available for production of transgenic, knock-out, knock-in, and gene-edited animals, with full-service model generation provided in collaboration with the Gene Editing Reagent Core (GERC). The APC also provides an array of other services to support animal research, including embryo and sperm cryopreservation and cryorecovery, rederivation of specific-pathogen-free lines, in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and other reproductive biology techniques and surgeries.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"field_1_45\"  class=\"gfield gsection field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"  data-js-reload=\"field_1_45\"><h2 class=\"gsection_title\">Gene Editing Reagent Core (GERC)<\/h2><div class='gsection_description' id='gfield_description_1_45'>The GERC provides a suite of services for investigators to implement cutting edge genome editing in their research programs, from developing reagents for investigators to use in their labs to implementing genome editing to produce new animal models in collaboration with the Animal Production Core (APC). We also manage the CRB\u2019s single cell library service using the 10x Genomics Chromium Controller and reagents.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"field_1_46\"  class=\"gfield gsection field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"  data-js-reload=\"field_1_46\"><h2 class=\"gsection_title\">Social and Economic Sciences Research Center (SESRC)<\/h2><div class='gsection_description' id='gfield_description_1_46'>The SESRC at WSU provides public opinion survey research and other research support services to a wide variety of academic, government groups and organizations.  Our center specializes in the application of survey research methods used to collect data in support of public policy resolution.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"field_1_47\"  class=\"gfield gsection field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"  data-js-reload=\"field_1_47\"><h2 class=\"gsection_title\">WSU Health Sciences Spokane<\/h2><div class='gsection_description' id='gfield_description_1_47'>The WSU-Spokane Service Centers are centralized under the Spokane Office of Research. The Services Centers are maintained by the Lab Services group and include Flow Cytometry, Genomics, Histology, Imaging, Mass Spectrometry, Microscopy, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, and Biomedical Design and Engineering. <\/div><\/li><li id=\"field_1_48\"  class=\"gfield gsection field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"  data-js-reload=\"field_1_48\"><h2 class=\"gsection_title\">Water Chemistry Facility<\/h2><div class='gsection_description' id='gfield_description_1_48'>In 2017, with generous support from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, WSU Vancouver established the Water Chemistry Facility, a state-of-the-art water chemistry laboratory equipped with an Agilent 7900 ICP MS, a DIONEX Ion Chromatograph, and a Hach Dissolved Organic Carbon and Total Nitrogen Analyzer. Together, these instruments can be used to detect and quantify a broad range of elements and ions. In addition to its own research, the facility also offers its services to researchers, governmental users, and the private sector.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"field_1_53\"  class=\"gfield gsection field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"  data-js-reload=\"field_1_53\"><h2 class=\"gsection_title\">Composite Materials and Engineering Center (CMEC)<\/h2><div class='gsection_description' id='gfield_description_1_53'>Scientists at the Composite Materials &amp; Engineering Center (CMEC) develop new building materials and fuels from a range of recycled and virgin resources. They also design structural systems that utilize the new materials effectively. Rigorous structural testing ensures that innovations are efficient, economically viable, and safe.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"field_1_55\"  class=\"gfield gsection field_sublabel_below field_description_below gfield_visibility_visible\"  data-js-reload=\"field_1_55\"><h2 class=\"gsection_title\">Technical Services Instrument Shop<\/h2><div class='gsection_description' id='gfield_description_1_55'>The Technical Services Instrument Shop has a well-equipped machine shop and a team of experienced technicians providing you with custom solutions to your research and instructional equipment needs. Our expertise comes from over fifty years of serving the research community at WSU Pullman and the branch campuses. The Technical Services Electronics Shop offers quick turnaround on troubleshooting, testing, repairs and maintenance of most electronic and electro-mechanical laboratory equipment and instrumentation, including apparatus that is no longer supported by the manufacturer. The Instrument and Electronics shops have the combined abilities to design and fabricate, modify, or repair a wide variety of scientific apparatus. Our lab collaborates with the WSU Stable Isotope Core Laboratory (SICL) and the Radiogenic Isotope and Geochronology Laboratory (RIGL) to analyze samples on mass spectrometers housed on the Pullman campus.
