These controls are in place to promote national security, foreign policy, anti-terrorism, and non-proliferation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three types of export control regulations are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Export Administration Regulations (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bis.doc.gov\/index.php\/regulations\/export-administration-regulations-ear\">EAR<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>International Traffic in Arms Regulations (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pmddtc.state.gov\/ddtc_public?id=ddtc_public_portal_itar_landing\">ITAR<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Office of Foreign Assets Control (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.treasury.gov\/about\/organizational-structure\/offices\/Pages\/Office-of-Foreign-Assets-Control.aspx\">OFAC<\/a>) regulations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Export controls and WSU research<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Research efforts at Washington State University are a global endeavor. Dissemination of ideas is a core value.
