Strengthing our future through training.

Placing the future of our environment in good hands.
David Yonge educates the next generation of environmental problem-solvers. Under his direction, some 40 Ph.D. students unravel a tangle of environmental woes facing private corporations and government agencies. Professor Yonge’s Center for Multiphase Environmental Research unites doctoral students from nine departments to avert or address threats to the water, air, and earth. Supported by a National Science Foundation/Integrative Graduate Education and Research Training (NSF/IGERT) grant, the students work alongside faculty in interdisciplinary project teams. Student teams transfer their own innovations to industry for application and commercialization. By tackling regional, national, and even international problems in a cooperative framework, these students emerge with the deep knowledge and real-world experience required to remedy environmental ills.
