Human Health

Each year Washington residents spend an average of $5,092 per person for hospital care, physician services, and prescription drugs*. Research increases the value of every health care dollar spent.

Advancing health care. In laboratories and clinical studies, in the offices of esteemed social scientists, and across the Riverpoint Campus health science center in Spokane, WSU researchers explore critical issues related to disease and the health care infrastructure. Their findings make treatment of disease more effective. They make institutions that provide care more efficient.

Exposing health threats. By identifying hidden dangers to our well-being-plastics, pesticides, and more-researchers empower us to meet each day's challenges in better health.
